Setting up your website template:

Step 1:
EDIT FLASH ANIMATION: | Click for more details
Open the "flash.txt" file with Notepad or a plain text editor and change the text following "logo=" the "Yourwebsitetitle.com" to your name or company name. Be sure not to delete the "logo=". This will change the Flash logo on all pages. If you wish to use a graphic logo, there are instructions later in this document.

THE HOMEPAGE FLASH IMAGE CHANGER: | Click for more details
The animation on the index.html is showing 8 .jpg images. You will find these images in the "flash" folder. You can simply replace "image1.jpg" through "image8.jpg" with any standard .jpg images and the flash will update. Make your images 500 x 333 pixels in size.

Step 2:
EDIT FOOTER COPYRIGHT: | Click for more details
Open the "footer.js" file in Notepad or any text editor and change the "Your Name or Company" line to match your information. This will change the footer info on all pages. There is also a menu in this file. To edit that see menus later in this document.

Step 3:
EDIT CONTACT INFO: | Click for more details
Open the "contact.js" file in Notepad or any text editor and change the company name, address, phone number and e-mail address. This will change contact info on the "contact" and "services" pages.

Step 4:
EDIT THE CONTACT FORM: | Click for more details

Click for current info on setting up the template forms.

Click for info on adding more fields to the forms.

Click for changing form sizes or colors.

If you want to use only e-mail on the contact page you can remove the contact form from the "contact.htm" between the comment tags.

Step 5:
REPLACE THE PAGE GRAPHICS: | Click for more details
Replace the "about.jpg", "clients.jpg", "services.jpg" etc.. (one for each page) with your own pictures. These images are 200 x 300 pixels. Replace the 8 "home-?.jpg" icons "picts" folder with your own pictures to update the index.html. The homepage images are 70 x 47 pixels. All page images can be found in the "picts" folder.

Step 6:
REPLACE THE GALLERY GRAPHICS: | Click for more details | Thumbnail Help
Because this template includes a slideshow and javascript cart, the best way to setup the pictures in the gallery and the slide show at the same time is not to actually edit the HTML pages and change the pictures on each individual page. The fastest way is to simply replace the pictures in the "gallery" folder with your own by overwriting the files that are in there now and using the same generic names. Hosting is case sensitive so be sure to use the exact same name.

Replace the 80 "Fgallery" pictures in the "gallery" folder with full size photos. These images are now 500 x 333 pixels. Replace the 80 "gallery" pictures with your thumbnails. The thumbnails are now 70 x 47 pixels but you can make them any size that you prefer. The gallery pages will show your thumbnails at whatever size you make them. You can also replace the "slideshow.jpg" with your own personal starting slide for the slideshow.

Step 7:
EDIT THE MENUS AND DROPDOWN MENUS: | Menu Editing | Adding Pages
This template includes horizontal CSS menus. You can edit the menus as you need and add and remove links and pages. You will edit the menu.js in a text editor to change the menu names and add items. Click for CSS horizontal menu help.

Step 8:
EDIT PAGES: | Software choices | Notepad Editing
Change the text on all pages to match your information. You can use a text editor like Notepad, Frontpage, Dreamweaver or any wysiwyg editor. Take care not to delete any of the HTML tags that surround the text. You will find notes inside each page to help you navigate. NOTE: You will not see the footer and header in some software because they are .js include files so you can globally edit your e-mail and other info.

Step 9:
EDIT TITLES, DESCRIPTIONS AND KEYWORDS: | Click for more details
Open each of the pages and change the titles (at the very top of the page) and also the description and the keywords with your product or service information. You can edit one page and copy and paste to the other pages. Be careful to only change what's inside the "" so you don't disturb the html code. Page titles are important so your site will get a good listing at Google or MSN and other search engines.

Step 10:
SETUP THE PAYPAL SHOPPING CART: | Click for more details
This Paypal cart includes javascript so you can add options at checkout. Here are the quick setup instructions, click above for more options and details. To use the no cart gallery pages see "options" later on this page.
  1. Set up a PayPal merchant account.
  2. Edit the sidebar.js and change "paypal@your-web-domain.com" near the top to your Paypal e-mail.
  3. Open the "site_map.htm" and edit the "paypal@your-web-domain.com" link code for the view cart and checkout links with your Paypal e-mail.
  4. Edit the ordering.html and change "paypal@your-web-domain.com" with your Paypal e-mail in one place about 1/3 down the page using a plain text editor.
  5. Just under that line in the "ordering.html" change "your-domain.com" to your domain so the "thanks-payment.htm" can be found after the order. Be sure to upload this page.
  6. Edit the first set of options called "START THE AMOUNT OPTIONS". Make sure every price is different so you know what was ordered. You can change the prices and options for all these items. Be sure to change the price in 2 places for each option.
  7. Edit or delete the second set of options called "START THE SECOND OPTIONS" with your options. If you remove this option you must also edit the javascript at the top of the page as well.
  8. Edit or delete the shipping options with your shipping options. If you remove this option you must also edit the javascript at the top of the page as well.
  9. In the shipping options area is the "shipping2" option. This is for each item added to the cart after the first. Edit this with your cost or delete this line. More help for shipping.
  10. NOTE: If you only want a shipping option and no others see "ordering-NO-OPTIONS.html" later in this document.
  11. You can change all the item names in the cart. Click here for more details and options.

Step 11:

If you would like to add or remove pictures from the slideshow, open the slideshow.htm in Notepad and look for the "EDIT THIS AREA" note. To change these options, open one of the .js files in Notepad and put a "yes" or "no" (all lowercase) for the options you want to change. You can also change colors and some height and width variables as well as turn on and off items. See the notes in each .js file for details.

AMAZON SEARCH SETUP:
The Amazon search box on the links page is currently set to pay Allwebco for all purchases from your site. To edit this for your own account, go to Amazon and join the associates program. See step #7 above for the drop menus. To edit the "menu_gallery.js" or "footer.js" links see menu editing in the support center.

ZOOM AND GRAY FILTERS:
In IE and Firefox you will see zoom buttons on the right in each gallery page. In IE you will also see a "switch to gray" filter. The global options for these buttons can be found in the top of the "zoom.js".

ADDING GALLERIES: | Click for more details
You can add pages to your website by copying and pasting any one of the pages and renaming it to whatever you need. You can then add links from the other pages or the gallery. There are about 200 total pictures and only 15 or 20 that you won't need to edit. You will find all pictures in the "picts" and "gallery" folders. Be sure to back up your files before you edit them.

PAGE HEIGHTS:
There is a spacer in the "footer.js" with a height of "150" you can edit to space the footer text on all your pages from the page text above. Also the "headshadow" class in the "coolstyle.css" includes a height to globally move all tables down from the top of all pages.
